My name is Kelly Magas. I've been a teacher for the Diocese of Rockville Centre since 2007. I started teaching fifth grade math and science at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bellmore, NY. In 2008, I became part of the St. Agnes family! I have been teaching fifth grade science, health, and religion classes ever since!
I graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Liberal Arts. I had concentrated areas of study which included English, History, and Dance. In 2002, I began teaching dance classes. After graduation, I enrolled in Long Island University's Childhood Education program. I earned my Masters Degree in Childhood Education and became a substitute teacher. A few short years later, I started teaching within the Diocese.
I believe that teachers need to teach students the skills they need to teach themselves. This establishes the foundation for a life-long learner! I am thankful to work with such wonderful students, parents, and educators at St. Agnes Cathedral School!
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and our family. We have nine nieces and nephews! So, there is always a birthday party or special event to celebrate! I also enjoy baking, taking my dog, Bodie, to the park, and watching the NY Giants. I go to a few home games every year!
Thank you for stopping by!
