Parish Sponsored

Altar Servers

Girls and boys in grades 6 through 8 are encouraged to become an Altar Server where they will assist the Cathedral Parish and School Communities in their liturgical prayer. Being an altar server is an honor and a privilege which provides the opportunity to participate in the liturgy in a special way.

Other goals of the Altar Server Program are to deepen the server's faith, helping the server to appreciate the Mass more deeply, and to inspire young men and women to consider a religious vocation.

It is said that singing hymns is like praying twice. St. Agnes Cathedral Parish is blessed with many talented members who share their gift of song in praise of the Lord. Their voices raised at Mass and other liturgies enrich our spiritual life and encourage us all to participate more fully.

‚ÄčThe St. Agnes CYO Sports Program is open to boys and girls in grades four through twelve. Its goals are to promote sportsmanship, teamwork and the development of each child’s self esteem and natural abilities. It provides children the opportunity to participate in organized basketball, swimming, track and volleyball programs. St. Agnes CYO teams compete against teams from other parishes in the Diocese.

Boy Scouts            Girl Scouts

Boy Scouts - Sponsored by the St. Agnes Council 2548 of the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scout Troop 163 and Cub Scout Troop 163 meet regularly at St. Agnes.  Trained parent leaders work with the boys to provide a well-organized, yet relaxed, fun atmosphere in which they learn the principals of scouting, develop leadership skills, build character, strengthen faith, and provide service to the parish and the larger community.

Girl Scouts - Girl Scouting has a long tradition of service in the St. Agnes Parish community. Over 16 troops, from Daisies to Cadets (Kindergarten to 9th grade), are affiliated with the parish, which includes close to 300 girls and 55 trained leaders.
