Foreign Language - Señorita Barrere

Welcome to Spanish! 

My name is Señorita Barrere  and I am so excited to be teaching my first year of
Spanish at St. Agnes Cathedral School.  I studied Adolescent Math Education(7-12) and Spanish at SUNY Cortland for my undergraduate degree.  I completed my graduate degree from Hofstra University in TESOL(K-12) and Special Education(1-6).  I am a certified teacher in TESOL(English to speakers of other languages) and Spanish (7-12). I am currently awaiting certification in Spanish (K-6) by New York State.  
 I have previously subbed for the Garden City School district as a per diem substitute teacher.
 I look forward to working with all of your children. 
Topics we will be covering in the 2024-2025  school year include interpersonal communication, writing, speaking and reading in Spanish. In 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, we will be speaking about greetings, the alphabet, family, every day conversation, Spanish History month and the history of the Spanish language.
