Mrs. Kirby - Math Support
Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Mrs. Kirby and I have been teaching math support at St. Agnes for nine years. I love working with your children, and my goal is to help them develop confidence in their math skills. In our small groups, we spend time reviewing basic skills and developing a greater mastery of concepts and procedures. I want each and every one of them to learn to love math!!
I hope everyone had a lovely and peaceful summer! I am looking forward to a successful school year. We will be reviewing what the students have learned in previous years and we will reinforce new material as it is presented in the classroom.
If you are looking for extra practice and review, don't forget IXL and Freckle. They are fun, free online resources! kkirby5546@stagnes-school.org

Xtra Math is a great free resource for practicing all facts.

Freckles is another free application that works nicely on a tablet or iPad. This used to be called Front Row. Students from my class who have used it before should still be able to log in with the password listed below. If not you can join by following the directions on the link below.

Lessons 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3, 9.4, 9.5, 9.6, and 9.7 are good lessons on the below link for extra practice and review of these concepts. I would also recommend practicing these sections on IXL, Y 1-7.

Children recommended for the math support program are seen 2-3 times per cycle for approximately 35 minutes. During our small class periods, we work on the current math curriculum being presented in the classroom. Students will receive additional instruction and have the opportunity to practice skills in a small group with close supervision. A portion of this class time is also designated to working on specific skills the children are learning or finding difficulty. Students are always encouraged to bring questions.
Who is Eligible?
A variety of criteria is used to determine who is eligible for the math support program including teacher and administrator recommendation, New York State math test results, and diagnostic math assessments.
