Welcome to 8th grade English!
I am eager to be starting my second year at St. Agnes Cathedral School. It is going to be an exciting journey as we explore the world of literature! I am looking forward to meeting the incoming eighth graders and helping them grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. In eighth grade English, we will read a variety of literature. Some mediums include: "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell, and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. We will utilize reading strategies to analyze deeper meanings in works and promote critical thinking. We will also use writing strategies to complete various writing tasks. I cannot wait to begin our English explorations!

O glorious St. Agnes, you served God in humility and confidence on earth and are now in the enjoyment of
His beatific Vision in heaven because you persevered till death and gained the crown of eternal life.
Remember now the dangers that surround me in the vale of tears, and intercede for me in my needs and troubles.
Amen.
