National Junior Honor Society

CRITERIA FOR THE NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Students in Grades 7 and 8 are eligible for membership in the National Junior Honor Society.

The following criteria are utilized to determine eligibility:

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION
            1. CHARACTER
            2. SERVICE
            3. CITIZENSHIP
            4. LEADERSHIP
            5. SCHOLARSHIP: See below for details pertaining to SCHOLARSHIP

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

1. 4 or higher in Religion
2. A minimum of 20 points in all major academic areas for T3 of 6^th grade and 24 points for T1 of 7^th Grade or
3. A minimum of 24 points in all major academic areas for T1 and T2 of 7^th Grade or
4. A minimum of 24 points in all major academic areas for T2 and T3 of 7^th Grade or
5. A minimum of 24 points in all academic areas for T3 of 7^th grade and T1 of 8^th Grade

6. Effort grades: minimum of S                              
            7.  Art, Computer & Physical Ed.  =   3 or higher
            8.  Personal Growth Code: minimum of S

Students who meet the scholarship criteria are given an application to complete and return with documentation showing evidence of service. Students who successfully complete the application are inducted into the National Junior Honor Society during Catholic Schools Week.
 
Once inducted, all members must maintain a 4 in Religion and a minimum of 23 points to remain in good standing.

Students who fall below this criteria will be on probation for 1 trimester.
If grades do not improve, the member is dismissed from the society.
